Ford vehicles are geared up with exhaust gasoline recirculation systems. The EGR system helps to prevent dangerous gasses from forming. The EGR system uses a specialised sensor, called the differential pressure suggestions exhaust sensor. The sensor works to watch the pressure within the EGR system and ensure the EGR valve is working efficiently. If the DPFE Sensor fails, the EGR valve will fail to work properly. DPFE Sensor1. Open the hood of the Ford vehicle. If the car was just lately pushed, allow the engine and sensors time to cool.
2. Locate the DPFE Sensor. You should first remove the existing sensor earlier than installing the replacement. The sensor is mounted behind the higher consumption manifold. Look between the engine and the firewall; the sensor is a small black box with two hoses and a wire harness plugged into it.
3. Take away the two hoses from the facet of the present sensor. Disconnect the wire harness; push in the two aspect tabs and pull the harness out. Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove the sensor’s screws. Raise the sensor off the mount.
4. Wipe the mount clean with a rag. This will ensure a clean connection for the new sensor.
5. Set up the new DPFE sensor. Place the sensor on the mount. Safe the sensor with the 2 screws and tighten with the socket wrench. Plug the hoses into the new sensor. Join the wire harness; the harness will click on into place once secured. The sensor is now installed.
